RUTX50 5G Router

RUTX50

Teltonika RUTX50 is the new high speed, 5G industrial router providing the ideal solution for M2M / IoT connectivity applications that need high speed connectivity.

Utilising the high speed 5G connectivity quickly being rolled out across the UK, the Teltonika RUTX50 builds upon the success of the Teltonika Industrial 4G router range, including the popular RUT950, RUT955, RUT240, RUTX12 and RUTX14.

The RUTX50 router uses the tried and tested RUTX architecture with a new embedded 5G modem to deliver lightning fast 5G connectivity. Combined with the Teltonika RUTOS and RMS (Remote Management System) the RUTX50 is due to cause a stir in the crowded Industrial 5G router marketplace.

The RUTX50 price is expected to be around £695 retail with trade pricing at around £645.00.

Teltonika have announced the launch of their 5G router and 5G Gateway (TRB500) via a youtube live video launch in September where they will unveil the full RUTX50 specification and features, along with pricing and availability.

Teltonika announce hardware updates for RUT950 – power connector and Telit 4G modem

Teltonika have announced today that the Teltonika RUT950 will be produced with a new terminal power connection.

RUT950 4G Router new power connection and telit 4G modem

RUT950 UK mains Power Adapter supplied with all new units from Jan 2017

Teltonika claim the benefits of the new style power connector for the RUT950 4G Router will be

1) Socket plug with fixation
2) Ready for RCM certification
3) One socket for industrial and home usage
4) Reserved pins for ignition (future option)

Teltonika also announced that they will be replacing the existing Huawei 4G Modem and replace it with a new CAT4 Telit 4G Modem.

The new Telit Module has the following features

  • LTE (DL/UK) – 150 / 50 Mbps
  • LTE Bands – B1 (2100Mhz) / B3 (1800Mhz) / B7 (2600Mhz)  / B8 (900Mhz) / B20 (800Mhz)
  • HSPA (HSDPA) – 21 Mbps
  • HSPA (HSUPA) 5.76 Mbps
  • UMTS – 384 Mbps
  • GSM / GPRS / EDGE – Dual band Europe (900 / 1800 Mhz)
  • UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA – B1 / B8 (2100 / 900 Mhz)
  • EDGE – 236.8 Kbps
  • GPRS – 85.6 Kbps

Compared to the old Huawei Module

  • LTE (DL/UK) – 100 / 50 Mbps
  • LTE Bands – B1 / B2 / B3 / B5 / B7 / B8 / B20
  • HSPA (HSDPA) – 21 Mbps
  • HSPA (HSUPA) 5.76 Mbps
  • UMTS – 384 Mbps
  • GSM / GPRS / EDGE – Quad Band)
  • UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA – B1 / B2 / B5 / B8
  • EDGE – 236.8 Kbps
  • GPRS – 85.6 Kbps

So for 4G connectivity the main benefit is the move to a CAT4 module to hopefully provide better download speeds – of course your maximum download and upload speeds for the RUT950 4G Router will depend upon distance to 4G base Station and the number of simultaneous users and the mobile networks bandwidth and service restrictions.

Once Teltonika start production of the revised RUT950 4G Router then the old barrel style connector will no longer be available.  replacement power supplies will need to be specially ordered and are expected to be more expensive than the normal mains power supplies.

If you have the new version of the Teltonika RUT950 and are having 3G/4G connection issues then please ensure you are using the latest firmware and have correctly configured the mobile settings page – click here for details

Teltonika RUT900 3G Router Due For Launch

Teltonika have announced that they will soon be manufacturing the RUT900 which is the 3G version of the Teltonika RUT950 4G Dual SIM M2M Router.

Teltonika RUT900

The Teltonika RUT900 3G Router will use the same casing as the RUT950 and will include the DIN Rail mounting kit and the firmware and features will be the same – the only difference is that the RUT900 will use a 3G Module inside whereas the RUT950 uses a 4G Module.

Teltonika also announced that this will mean that the RUT500 3G router will be discontinued in favour of the new RUT900 3G Router which offers an advanced feature set and also includes the dual SIM failover making ideal for M2M projects for remote management and monitoring with the advantage of a lower price and of course with many M2M projects will only using 3G M2M Data SIM cards because of the lower rental and data costs the RUT900 3G router will provide a stable and low cost solution for mobile broadband Internet connectivity.  This new RUT900 router will be similar to the Elins H900 4G Router.
